As a busy mom with 3 children, I have to say that moving on is one of the biggest reasons I’ve struggled with my career. Moving to a new city, moving to a new state, moving to a new country, changing my employer, and even the biggest reason for this blog entry…the fact that I don’t have a job is the biggest reason for me to move on.
I get why it’s tough to get a job in your field, but the fact is, moving to a new city, changing your employer and then moving to a new state are all things that most people don’t do. There’s a reason so many people who want to change jobs are stuck in the same job for years. It’s so hard to move on, and the fact that it seems so daunting for so many people is why so many people end up in an unhappy situation.
Moving on is a goal that many people take as a given. It doesn’t have to be the case though. As I mentioned earlier here, many people move on from work to start their own business. That’s a good thing to do, but the reality of it is that that is not a popular thing to do. The reason is because there are so many people (and companies) in this world who are looking for a job.
The truth is, there are always jobs that you can find that you can do. And once you find those jobs, there’s a whole world of possibilities out there waiting for you. Thats why I’m so excited about the new moveon jobs site. It brings together current jobs from every major company (including yours truly) and makes them available for you to apply for.
So what makes a job a job, you might ask. Well, a job is something that your company hires you to do for money. So theres also jobs that you can do for yourself. For example, if you’re a musician, you can become a professional musician by becoming a recording artist. Even if you’re a writer, you can become an author by writing your own books. Or if you’re a programmer, you can become a professional programmer by becoming a programmer.
Now, as a programmer, programming is a very individual way of looking at things, and it takes a different approach to things. A programmer does not necessarily know every little thing about programming, but rather works on large systems that have a lot of moving parts. For example, a programmer might be expected to be able to program a basic program on his own, such as “Write the program that will output the sum of the first two numbers entered by the user, excluding zero.
Programming is not necessarily a skill everyone is necessarily capable of, but if you do it for a living you should be capable of it.
The problem is that the programmer is not an expert in programming, so they don’t have the knowledge necessary to make the program work for the job. The programmer may not even know that the program is the problem, because they haven’t developed the skills to do so. If they did, they wouldn’t be programming.

I do not understand the problem of programmers who are not experts in programming. I’m no expert in programming either, but I think it’s a really good idea to let people who are actually trying to do it learn on their own. Especially if you’re going to be taking the job on.
