I understand the anxiety of applying for multiple jobs at the same job. I’ve done it myself and I won’t deny that it has been a pain in the ass. I’ve been applying for a job at a different area of the company and then applying to other jobs when I move to that area because I’m so afraid that I won’t get the job.
Well it happened to me too one time. At first I was applying to a job in a different area that I liked and then the company told me that I was no longer qualified for the job. I felt like I wasted time on other jobs and I was so worried that I was going to be fired that I made a half-hearted attempt at the new job. The job I thought I had better be ready for.
It’s common for people to have multiple jobs at a company. Some people have multiple jobs at the same company because they are required to do so by the company. Others have multiple jobs at the same company because they have certain skills that other people in the company are looking for. It’s not for everyone though. If you are applying for multiple jobs at the same company, it may be worth applying for some and not others.
The best advice I can give for this is to do your research. If you have an extremely specific skill that you think may be useful in a certain situation, then do your research and apply for the job you think is more likely to be a fit. If you have a vague idea of what you’re good at, then don’t apply for multiple jobs at the same company.
This is one of those tips that I wish I had more of. I wish I had never applied for multiple jobs at the same company. It’s so easy to get sucked into thinking that there is an “it’s ok to apply for multiple jobs at the same company” mentality. The reality is that it’s only ok if you are applying for multiple jobs. If you are applying for multiple jobs, then you will probably get rejected for one of the reasons listed above.
This includes “we prefer to work with people who have a clear understanding of our business model,” “our core technology is not so complex that we cannot meet the needs of our customers” and “we have a strong track record of managing the business,” among others.
Of course it is okay to apply for multiple jobs. You are doing your best to find work here and have a plan for what you will do with it once you have found it. Do you really think you are not going to find work here, or that you will only get rejected and have to scramble to find another job? There are many applicants out there, just take the time to research and find a job that interests you.
If you really want to make a good first impression, make sure to check your employment history. People are not so choosy about their employers anymore, and there is a good chance that you will find a job that is more interesting than what you currently have.
You see, it all boils down to how good of a job you do and how much you really like being in the position. It’s not always easy to fit into a job, and it’s definitely not easy to leave a job you’ve found to become a better version of yourself. Finding a good job for the long haul means you need to do your research and find a job that you like. That’s not an easy thing to do.
Thats why I say to apply for multiple jobs at the same company, especially if you want to be an entrepreneur. If you have a talent for writing fiction, for example, there are plenty of job opportunities in book publishing that would be a wonderful fit if you are interested in becoming a writer. Thats not to say that you can’t do anything else. One of the things that we have found that is a huge challenge is trying to find a good job that you love.
